PROJECT OVERVIEW
A former Chicago Episcopal church built in 1885 has been adapted into an arts center for visual, performing, and culinary arts. An excellent early example of Richardsonian Romanesque Revival architecture in Chicago, the church was originally designed by architects Edward Burling and Francis Whitehouse. The 42,000-square-foot campus now houses a commercial and catering kitchen, a café, eight art galleries, three resident artist studios, four performing arts venues, and three event spaces. Ryan’s Historic Tax Credits team helped to secure $1.4 million in federal historic tax credits and $1.8 million in state historic tax credits for the project.
